'Tit for Tat' means “you get what you give.” At Studio TitForTat, that idea is at the heart of everything. Forgotten objects receive care and attention, and in return, they offer character and new life. In five clear steps, you’ll see how that transformation unfolds.
1. Discovering forgotten items
Each object is selected for its striking shape, expressive presence, or a detail that lingers: finds with character. Every piece is given a second life with care. Each object is unique, thoughtfully chosen, and ready to come to life once again.
2. Preparing & restoring
Each object receives the care it deserves: cleaned, sanded, and restored where needed. Only high-quality materials are used to ensure a strong and durable foundation. With attention to detail and careful craftsmanship, every piece is given a second life.
3. Hand-painted layer by layer
Crafted by hand using water-based paint. Each item is painted by hand, layer by layer, colour by colour. Patterns, colours, and contrasts are carefully chosen to complement the character of the object.
4. Carefully finished
After painting comes the finishing stage. A protective varnish is applied, with extra attention to detail where needed. This ensures the object is not only beautiful, but also durable and suitable for long-term use.
5. One of a kind
The final result is one of a kind; there is only one of it. No mass production, no repetition. Your piece is unique, handcrafted and renewed. We ship it using reused packaging materials whenever possible.
